Are You A Donor ?

Spending in the path of Allah is an investment for the hereafter. Masjids, Darul Ulooms and various other organisations and charities run on public support and contributions.

"
The likeness of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah, is like a grain, it grows seven ears, and each ear has a hundred grains. And Allah gives manifold increase to whom he wills.

(Ch 2, V261)

"
"
Kind words and forgiving are better than charity followed by teasing.

(Ch 2, V263)

"
"
O believers! Do not nullify your charities by remainders of your generosity and teasing.

(Ch 2, V264)

"

From the verses on the right it is evident that the reward for spending in Allah path is multiplied 700 times (and even greater if Allah wills). However, we also learn that such charity is discouraged where the donor asserts his influence due to the donation (described as in the above verse).

Keeping the above in mind, we expect all our donors to adhere to these divine guidelines. Hence your donation to the Madrasa should be free from all such intentions that nullify our charity. Such intentions could be expectations of preferential treatment, treating staff/management in an inappropriate manner, making a donation to show  others, making a donation to exert your influence.

For maximum reward and benefit, our only intention should be to please Allah. We should always thank him and show gratitude that he has enabled us to spend in his path the very wealth he has given us, and in return he is actually rewarding us as well. Many a charity is nullified due to a lack of sincerity and correct intention.

Therefore, if you want to donate, do so with a clear conscience and sincerity.

Say Allah enable us to spend in his path time and time again, and grant us sincerity. Ameen.
