Our Team

Below are profiles of our management team, various teachers and volunteers.

Mohammed Farook Kazi was born in Preston, U.K. After completing his Ḥifẓ-ul- Qurʾān and ʿĀlimiyyah Course at the Institute of Islamic Education, Dewsbury (UK) in 1998, he has ever since been involved in Maktab (evening Islamic supplementary schools) education. In 2001, he founded Al-Ansaar Welfare & Education, and a year later MTQ came into existence.

During the years 2006-2017, he was involved in the establishment and running of an Early Years provision, at the same time undertaking a Degree in Early Years Education, thereafter completing the E.Y.P. (Early Years Professional Status – broadly equivalent to “Qualified Teacher Status”). This experience has been used to enrich the Maktab, including the continued professional development of our teachers and systems.

In addition to teaching various levels and age ranges, including the founding of our ʿĀlimiyyah Course in 2013, from 2015, Allah has afforded him the grace and favour of teaching Aḥādīth and Aḥādīth Literature – both at a beginner’s level.

His hobbies include a strong interest in Islamic history, Classical Arabic, travelling, charity work, writing, and spending time with his family.

Mufti Javid is a trustee of Al-Ansaar Welfare & Education and a senior member of the management team.

Born in Preston, after gaining his Maktab education at Quwwatul Islam, he enrolled on the Alimiyyah course at the Institute of Islamic Education in Dewsbury. He graduated from his Alimiyyah course at Madrasah Kashiful Uloom in Nizamuddin, thereafter enrolling on to and graduating from the Ifta (jurisprudence) course at Falah-e-Darain, Tadkeshwar (India).

Mufti Javid brings a rich experience to our team. He boasts over twenty years of experience in teaching and managing a Maktab. He has taught all different levels and age ranges from Alif Baa to Quran, Islamic Studies and Alimiyyah. In addition to this, he has also managed a Darul Uloom in India, was Imam in Manchester for several years and a teacher of Arabic at Newman College.

He holds a National Qualification of Headship and is currently Headteacher of Preston Muslim Girls High School. In the evenings, he is a senior lecturer of our Alimiyyah course.

His hobbies include reading, eating out and cooking!

Mawlana Yunus is a senior teacher and member of the management team.

Born in Preston, after gaining his Maktab education at Quwwatul Islam, he enrolled on and graduated from the Alimiyyah course at the Institute of Islamic Education in Dewsbury.

Post-graduation, he was Imam and teacher at Masjid e Quba, Preston and also a teacher at Masjid e Salaam. He has over 15 years of Maktab teaching experience. He has taught a variety of levels and age ranges from Quran to Islamic Studies. He is currently part of the Hifz team.

Mawlana Yunus also works for HMRC. He is a keen traveller and reader and a regular visitor to the gym.

Mawlana Habibullah is a member of the management team and a senior teacher at MTQ.

Born in Preston, he gained his Maktab education and completed his Hifz at Quwwatul Islam. He always had a passion for learning Arabic, thus enrolling on a part-time Arabic course alongside studying his A-levels. Thereafter, he completed and graduated from the Alimiyyah course at Jamiatul Ilm Wal Huda, Blackburn in 2006.

Post-graduation, he was promoted to deputy-headteacher and has held this post for 10 years. He has over 15 years of Maktab teaching experience, teaching a variety of levels and age ranges including Alif Baa, Quran, Islamic Studies and Hifz.

Currently, in addition to various management and teaching responsibilities, he is also a lecturer of the Alimiyyah course and Head of Hifz. The latter involves managing the entire Hifz department of over 30 pupils, ensuring pupils are performing to the high standard that has been set over the past few years.

Mawlana Habibullah often gives speeches on various topics, leads study circles and Maktab teacher training events. He has compiled a number of books. He also manages Rhodi Charitable Trust based in Preston, a self-financed Charitable Trust that carries out various welfare and educational projects, both nationally and internationally.

His hobbies include reading, spending time with his family and supporting LFC!

Mawlana Aboobakar is a senior teacher at MTQ since 2004.

Born in Preston, after gaining his Maktab education at Quwwatul Islam, he enrolled on and graduated from the Alimiyyah course at the Institute of Islamic Education in Dewsbury.

Post-graduation, he has held a number of posts, including Prison Chaplaincy and teaching at Quwwatul Islam. He has over 15 years of Maktab teaching experience. He has taught a variety of levels and age ranges including Alif Baa, Quran, Islamic Studies and Hifz.

His hobbies include keeping active, travelling and hiking!

Hafiz Mohammed Haneef is a senior teacher at MTQ.

Born in Dewla, Bharuch, India, Hafiz Mohammed Haneef attained his Maktab education in Dewla. He then completed his Hifz in Darul Uloom Kantharia, India. Thereafter, he enrolled on and completed three years of the Alimiyyah course at the same institute.

After migrating to the UK, he has held a number of posts. He has also worked with SEN pupils, and taught GCSE Gujarati at Moor Park High School.

Hafiz Mohammed Haneef has over 30 years of Maktab teaching experience, teaching a wide range of ages and subjects. He is currently a Quran teacher. He is also the teacher of many our teaching team at MTQ, including the headteacher.

He also has a diploma in Teaching Community Languages. His hobbies include DIY, helping children, volunteering to feed the homeless and socialising with his friends.

Hafiz Cassim is a senior Hifz teacher at MTQ.

Born in Motavaracha, Surat (India) in 1951, Hafiz Cassim moved to the UK at a young age. He attained his Maktab education at Jamia Masjid, Preston. One unique feature about him is that he started his Hifz at the age of 24, completing it at the age of 30!

Post-Hifz, he has taught various age ranges and subjects at Jamia Masjid and Masjid e Saliheen (Broadgate) and then joined MTQ in 2004. He has over 25 years of Maktab teaching experience. He is currently part of the Hifz team at MTQ. Despite his age and illnesses, his dedication to Hifz and to serve Islam is commendable.

Hafiz Cassim also has a diploma in mechanical engineering. His hobbies include DIY and spending time with his grandchildren.

Born in London, Mu’allimah Safiyyah gained her Maktab education at Ta’limul Islam, London.

She enrolled on and completed the Alimiyyah course at Madrasah Mu’einul Islam, Johannesburg, South Africa in 1999. Thereafter, she taught at her local Maktab and also tutored privately.

She joined MTQ as a teacher in 2005 and taught the Reception class for several years. Currently, she teaches the older girls’ Tarbiyah class.

She is also a qualified childcare practitioner in early years.

Her hobbies include spending time with her family, going for walks and attending & listening to Islamic lectures.

Following the completion of her Alimiyyah course at Jamiatul Imam Muhammad Zakariyya, Bradford in 2006, Mu’allimah Fazila joined MTQ. With a decade of teaching experience behind her, she is one of the senior teachers at MTQ.  She has successfully taught a variety of levels and age ranges from Alif Baa, Quran and Islamic Studies. In addition to this, she is also a mentor for our new teachers.

Mu’allimah Fazila is also a qualified childcare practitioner (Early Years).

In her spare time, she enjoys baking, baby-sitting for friends and family, being creative, reading Islamic literature and attending Islamic gatherings.

Mawlana Mohammad Shoaib is a senior teacher at MTQ.

Born in London, he gained his Maktab education at Masjid e Quba, London. He later enrolled on the Alimiyyah course at the Institute of Islamic Education in Dewsbury. Thereafter, he did a further year in the ‘Specialism of Fiqh’ at Jamiatul Ilm Wal Huda, Blackburn.

Post-graduation, in addition to teaching, he has been a Muslim Chaplain at various prison establishments. Currently, he is chaplain at Lancaster Farms, where he delivers weekly Islamic educational classes and provides pastoral care to prisoners. In addition to this, he has also been Imam at Musalla An-Noor, London.

Mawlana Mohammed Shoaib has almost 15 years of teaching experience. After teaching at Masjid e Salaam, Preston for four years, he joined the MTQ team in 2007. He has taught all different age ranges and subjects from Alif Baa to Quran and Islamic Studies.

Born in Preston, after gaining her Maktab education at Madrasah Tajweedul Quran: Al-Ansaar Welfare & Education she enrolled on and graduated from the Alimiyyah course at Madrasatul Imam Muhammad Zakariyya, Preston.

Following the completion of her Alimiyyah course in 2016, she joined MTQ and has taught both Islamic Studies and Quranic studies.

In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family and keeping active.

Born in Preston, Mawlana Adil gained his Maktab education at Madrasah Tajweedul Quran: Al-Ansaar Welfare & Education. He then started his Hifz at MTQ, before completing his Hifz at Abrar Academy (Darul Uloom Preston). Post-Hifz, he enrolled onto the Alimiyyah course at the institute and also completed his GCSEs.

Alongside his Alimiyyah commitments, since 2016, Mawlana Adil has been teaching Islamic and Quranic studies at MTQ. During this time, he has also completed his A Level studies.

Mawlana Adil hopes to further his Islamic knowledge by enrolling on to the Ifta (Jurisprudence) course at Madrasah Arabia Islamia (South Africa).

His interests include reading, swimming and spending time in the Dawah effort (Tabligh).

Hafiz Adam Sidat was born in Leicester and then moved to Preston, where he completed his formative Islamic education at Madrasah Tajweedul Quran: Al-Ansaar Welfare & Education. He then started his Hifz at MTQ, completing half the Quran at MTQ, before completing his Hifz at Abrar Academy, Preston.

Hafiz Adam started teaching at MTQ in 2016 alongside his A-Level studies and has always taught the Reception Class. During the day, he works from home as an Application Analyst for DXC.

In his spare time Hafiz Adam likes eating out, playing various sports, watching football and is a big supporter of LFC.

Born in Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates, Hafiz Yahya moved to Preston and completed his Maktab education at Masjid-e-Salam in Preston. In addition to this, he completed his Hifz at Abrar Academy, Preston.

He has been a teacher at MTQ since 2016 and predominantly teaches Islamic Studies to elder boys, something which he thoroughly enjoys.

He is currently studying for a medical degree at the University of Central Lancashire.

His hobbies and interests include reading, learning world history and playing numerous sports.

Born in Preston, Mu’allimah Ruwaida gained her Maktab education at Quwwat-ul-Islam and Masjid-e-Falah, Preston. She then continued her Islamic studies by attending classes run by the late Mu’allimah Zubaida Ingar (Ingar Khala) – May Allah have mercy on her.

After completing her GCSE examinations, she embarked on accomplishing her life-long ambition of studying the Alimiyyah course. She studied her Alimiyyah course at both Jamea al-Kauther, Lancaster and Madrasatul Imam Muhammad Zakariyya, Preston. She graduated in 2006. She also has 3 A level qualifications.

Post-graduation, she joined Masjid-e-Falah where she taught the Reception class, Quran and Islamic Studies to various age groups. She also ran a Tajweed class for adults.

Currently, she is a senior tutor of the Alimiyyah course at MTQ. Overall, she has over 10 years of teaching experience.

Her hobbies include walking, going on holiday, spending time with her family and being a mum.

Born in Preston, Mu’allimah Aamina gained her Maktab education at Madrasah Tajweedul Quran: Al-Ansaar Welfare & Education. She then enrolled onto and completed her Alimiyyah course at Madrasatul Imam Muhammad Zakariyya, Preston.

Thereafter, Mu’allimah Aamina joined MTQ as a teacher in 2017 and has since taught Quran and Islamic Studies to various age groups. She is currently a teacher of the Alimiyyah programme at MTQ.

She has several years of experience working with SEN pupils and supporting the Creative and Language departments at Preston Muslim Girls’ High School. More recently she has pursued a degree in Textiles Design at UCLan and is interested in creative arts and design.

In her spare time, she is involved in leadership with a local Muslim Scouts group and is a keen reader and painter.

Born in Preston, Mu’allimah Sanna gained her formative education by studying with a private tutor. She then enrolled on and completed the Alimiyyah course at Abrar Academy, Preston.

Following the completion of her Alimiyyah course in 2018, Mu’allimah Sanna joined MTQ. She is currently in her fifth year of teaching Islamic Studies, now having experience of teaching various levels and age ranges – starting from Level 2 up to Sanatayn Girls.

In addition to teaching at MTQ, Mu’allimah Sanna is now a mentor for new teachers at the Madrasah. She is also doing Hifdh and does private tuition, currently tutoring Arabic at GCSE level.

Her hobbies include creating products and resources for young children, to enrich Islamic Education in a fun and creative way, going out and spending time with her family.

Mu’allimah Salma gained her Maktab Education at Mahad al-Shuhada, Preston. She then enrolled on and completed the Alimiyyah course at Abrar Academy, Preston.

After completing her Alimiyyah studies, she joined MTQ as an Islamic studies teacher, now having experience of teaching various levels and age ranges – starting from Level 2 up to Sanatayn Girls

She is currently studying English Language and Literature Degree.

In her spare time, she enjoys reading and travelling.

Born in Preston, Mu’allimah Humairaa gained her Maktab education at Madrasah Tajweedul Quran: Al-Ansaar Welfare & Education. She then enrolled on and completed the Alimiyyah course at MTQ, spending a total of 14 years studying at MTQ!

The year following the completion of her Alimiyyah course, in 2020, Mu’allimah Humairaa joined MTQ as a Reception Class teacher. She enjoys teaching the Reception Class and has support from her brother Hafiz Adam who teaches the Reception class in Session 2.

During her free time, you can usually find Mu’allimah Humairaa with a good book, a cup of coffee and her cat curled in her lap!

Mu’allimah Fatima was born in Durban, South Africa, and lived there for some time, before moving to the U.K, where she gained her Maktab education at MTQ: Al-Ansaar Welfare & Education. Thereafter, she enrolled onto and completed the Alimiyyah course at MTQ in 2021.

She taught for a short time at the Maktab  of Madrasatul Imam Muhammad Zakariyya, Preston.

In her spare time, she has also studied Muwaṭṭaʾ Imam Malik, Rasm-al-Khaṭ and ‘Asharah Qirāʾah. She also enjoys reading, writing, baking, cooking, sewing, traveling, making Islamic Art, working on Arabic typesetting, and spending time with family and friends.

Born in Preston, Mu’allimah Tasneem Hameed gained her Maktab education at MTQ. She then enrolled onto the Alimiyyah course at MTQ, spending a total of 15 years at Al-Ansaar.

Following the completion of her Alimiyyah course, in 2021, she taught Arabic courses at EYIA for children.

She has also completed a Sports Therapy Course at Level 4 and is now working as a Sports Therapist during the day.

In her spare time, she enjoys reading, art, and cooking.

Born in Preston, Mu’allimah Maarya Kazi gained her Maktab education at MTQ. She then enrolled onto the Alimiyyah course at MTQ, spending a total of 15 years at Al-Ansaar.

Following the completion of her Alimiyyah course, in 2021, she taught Arabic courses at EYIA for children.

She is currently completing her Masters in Pharmacy at the University of Central Lancashire.

In her spare time, she enjoys reading and outdoor activities.

Mu’allimah Mariam was born in Preston, where she received her Maktab education at MTQ. She then completed her Alimiyyah course at MTQ in 2021, spending a total of 15 years studying here.

Following the completion of her Alimiyyah studies, Mu’allimah Mariam joined MTQ, where she currently teaches Level 1.

Alongside Madrasah, Mu’allimah Mariam is also completing her degree in Pharmacy.

In her spare time, she enjoys reading, hiking, and staying active.

Born in Preston, Ayesha Bux gained her Maktab education at MTQ. She then enrolled onto the Alimiyyah course at MTQ, spending a total of 15 years at Al-Ansaar. Following the completion of her Alimiyyah course, in 2021, she taught at Masjid-e-Falah for almost a year, before joining MTQ.

She is currently studying Psychology at the University of Central Lancashire.

In her spare time, she enjoys reading, baking and outdoor activities.
